Let’s talk about progressive overload.
You might be thinking… “What the heck is that?”
Progressive overload is important for anyone aiming to achieve consistent gains in strength and endurance. Webster dictionary tells us It’s the gradual increase in the intensity, volume, or difficulty of exercise over time to continually challenge the body and stimulate adaptation.
How do you achieve progressive overload in your workouts? Here’s how:
👉 Increase Resistance
👉 Add Repetitions or Sets
👉 Decrease Rest Periods
👉 Increase Instability
👉 Change the Tempo
How do I achieve progressive overload at AO?

We’re nerdy programmers… Now you know why 🤓
⭐️ You may have noticed that our program moves through a cycle. Each week our program transitions to more / less reps, more / less weights, more / less rest time.
⭐️ The point of this is to let your body experience working at different perceived efforts of strength + speed. This allows you to push high weights with long rest intervals, push less weights with short rest intervals, and explore various movement styles that challenge your body’s awareness of itself (aka prioprioception). AKA. Your brain + muscles are always experiencing new sensations + challenges!
So the next time you’re wondering why the heck you need to do an endurance week, just remember: PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD
Which service provides the best progressive overload?
Short answer… All of them. It just depends on YOU!
SGPT is best for you if:
You want to perfect your biomechanics.
You are looking for more complex movements (think: barbells).
You want individualized form check & weight/reps tracking.
You want access to your workouts when you’re way from the gym.
Classes are best for you if:
You can remember your weights or don’t mind guessing weights

From her days wrangling kiddos in the classroom to now running her own business like a boss, Luvy's an impressive & dedicated mompreneur.
